Liberland is thrilled to participate in the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee. This significant event gathers Bitcoin enthusiasts, industry leaders, and innovators. Here’s what you can expect from our presence at the conference:
Liberland’s Vision and Bitcoin Adoption
Liberland, established in 2015, was the first country to adopt Bitcoin (BTC) as its official currency. Our commitment to freedom of choice means we won’t compel anyone to use a specific means of exchange, but adopting Bitcoin highlights:
- The use of BTC for official governmental purposes.
- Promotion of BTC and Lightning Network-based payment solutions.
- Commitment to holding state reserves in BTC.
Our government has integrated Bitcoin into its everyday operations, and we are developing a secure digital wallet to manage our BTC reserves and to use them in the already existing system of transparent accounting.
Online Governance
Liberland’s government operates on a decentralized online platform, allowing all citizens to participate directly. We employ a meritocracy system where citizens vote with tokens called Liberland Merits (LLM), often purchased with Bitcoin. This system ensures that political power is earned through commitment to the country.
Economic Opportunities
Liberland is building a BTC-centric economy and seeks collaborations with BTC-based payment infrastructure providers. We are establishing a State Reserve Fund in BTC, open to investors during its pre-seed round.
